Genuine Health’s Accountable Care Organization (ACO)
Genuine Health Group created Genuine Health’s Accountable Care Organization (ACO) to provide our affiliated physicians with a powerful resource for improving care quality and maximizing revenue for individuals with Original Medicare or Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries.
Our ACO is made up of providers – mostly primary care physicians – that serve a defined population of Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries. Currently, Genuine Health ACO has nearly 100 participating physicians, and we’re rapidly expanding with more practices coming on board.
What Is An ACO?
ACOs, or accountable care organizations, are comprised of doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare suppliers that all serve a defined population of Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries (as opposed to Medicare Advantage members). CMS holds providers “accountable” for beneficiaries’ quality of care and level of satisfaction. In addition, CMS rewards these providers when certain quality and satisfaction measures are met.

An Advance Payment ACO Model
Genuine Health ACO operates as an “Advance Payment ACO Model.” As such, we bear financial risk for the cost of caring for the Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries who are part of Genuine Health ACO. It also gives our doctors the opportunity to earn substantial bonus payments when we achieve savings from Medicare benchmarks.
