Joseph L. Caruncho, Sr.
Chief Executive Officer
Prior to serving as CEO of Genuine Health Group, Joe co-founded Preferred Care Partners, a Medicare Advantage plan. As the company’s chief executive, he helped grow membership to 55,000 and generate sales in excess of more than $750 million.
For more than a dozen years he practiced corporate healthcare law, representing physicians, hospital systems, health care delivery networks, ancillary providers and health plans.
In 2004, Florida International University inducted him into its College of Business Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame. The following year he was honored as the 2005 Ernst and Young Health Care Entrepreneur of the Year for the State on Florida, the South Florida Business Journal’s Healthcare CEO of the Year, and as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Hispanics in the U.S. by Hispanic Business Magazine.
Joe served on the Florida Board of Governors, which oversees the State’s public universities and served on the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Task Force on Higher Education. He is a former board member for Florida Polytechnic University and Florida International University.
Orlando Lopez-Fernandez, Jr., MD
Chief Medical Officer
As Chief Medical Officer for Genuine Health Group, Dr. Lopez-Fernandez leads quality assurance programs and clinical initiatives aimed at superior medical outcomes for patients in the care of Genuine Health’s physician colleagues.
Previously, Dr. Lopez-Fernandez served as chief medical officer for United Healthcare of Florida, as well as Preferred Care Partners, which he co-founded.
He actively practiced medicine for more than 20 years, including in senior medical staff positions at hospitals in Miami and Chicago. Dr. Lopez-Fernandez is board certified in cardiology and internal medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He earned his MD at the University of Zaragoza School of Medicine in Zaragoza, Spain.
Dr. Lopez-Fernandez played a crucial role in the formation of the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University, and he currently serves there as a clinical assistant professor and as a member of the Dean’s Council.

Gamil Kharfan
Chief Growth Officer
As Chief Growth Officer of Genuine Health Group, Mr. Kharfan works primarily on physician recruitment, focusing on the company’s network of doctors who participate in Genuine Health’s DCE and its Medicare Advantage programs. In addition to his work growing the Genuine brand, he works closely with physician practices to increase patient participation in the company’s value-based healthcare models.
Mr. Kharfan is the founder and former CEO of Claro Insurance, a multi-state health insurance brokerage with licensed agents working in the Medicare, individual, and commercial insurance markets. Prior to founding Claro, Mr. Kharfan worked at United Health Group as a field representative concentrating on South Florida membership, and at Preferred Care Partners, where he was a top sales producer. He is also a former member of the United Health Group ISR Leadership Committee of South Florida.
Mr. Kharfan has received numerous accolades as a top performer in business growth and sales.

Marc Auerbach, Esq.
Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel
As Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel of Genuine Health Group, Marc Auerbach, Esq. assists with transactions related to physician engagements and home healthcare, as well as managed care organizations and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Marc has specific expertise working with managed care companies, ACOs, and provider organizations. He previously served as a shareholder of Cozen O’Connor, ranked among the top law firms in the country, where he specialized in healthcare. Named a “Super Lawyer” in 2006 and 2007 and from 2012 to 2015, Marc also provides pro-bono assistance to several Miami organizations.
Marc earned his J.D. from the James E. Beasley School of Law at Temple University. He is a member of the Florida Bar and a member of the Florida Bar’s Health Law section.

Marlene Aguerrebere
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer of Genuine Health Group, Marlene Aguerrebere manages the company’s finances, including cash flow, financial planning and reporting, budget management, and record-keeping.
Marlene, a certified public accountant, has more than two decades of experience as a controller and tax manager. She has expertise in financial management of healthcare organizations and financial institutions. She recently served as corporate controller at United Healthcare for the South Florida region. Prior to her role at United, she served as corporate controller at Preferred Care Partners and as a tax manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Marlene has a Bachelor of Accounting and a Master of Science in Tax from Florida International University.

Jenifer Montesino
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer of Genuine Health Group, Ms. Montesino oversees the day-to-day operations of the company, including revenue, quality, and physician engagement, as well as the Genuine Health At Home program, which provides home-based care for patients with chronic diseases, and the company’s home health agency.
Prior to joining Genuine Health Group, Ms. Montesino spent twelve years at UnitedHealthcare-owned and operated Medicare Advantage plans in Florida, where she concentrated on Medicare risk adjustment and overseeing primary care physicians’ quality ratings from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Ms. Montesino previously served as vice president of revenue and quality at Genuine Health Group.

Annette Onorati, Esq.
Executive Director, Population Health Alliance
As Executive Director of Population Health Alliance, Annette Onorati oversees the operations of the joint venture between Genuine Health Group and a large primary care provider group, Population Health Alliance, in South Florida. Population Health Alliance contracts with Medicare Advantage organizations and manages members under risk arrangements.

Ms. Onorati has over twenty years of experience in regulatory compliance, licensing, and management of healthcare organizations. She recently served as Chief Operating Officer for UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement for the South Florida region, where she oversaw the daily operations of the company. Prior to her role at UnitedHealthcare, she served as Compliance Officer and General Counsel at Preferred Care Partners.

Ms. Onorati earned her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and a Bachelor of Finance and Management from Florida State University.

Grace Giraldo, RN BSN MBA
Senior Director, Clinical Operations
Ms. Giraldo leads Genuine Health At Home, a program that provides home-based care for patients with chronic diseases, in addition to our Transition Care Management Program and home health services. She has over 13 years of experience in case management, utilization management and discharge planning. Prior to joining Genuine Health Group, Ms. Giraldo served 10 years at two UnitedHealthcare-owned and operated Medicare Advantage plans in Florida.
Ms. Giraldo earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master’s in business administration from Florida International University.

Ingrid Enamorado
Director Of Risk Adjustment & Quality
Ms. Enamorado monitors all programs related to revenue cycle and assists in efforts to improve reimbursement accuracy. She previously served as a healthcare data analyst at one of the nation’s largest accountable care organizations.
Ms. Enamorado holds a degree in healthcare administration and management from National Louis University.

Bruno Suarez
Director Of Physician Engagement
Mr. Suarez works on a wide scope of engagement initiatives and has been part of the company’s executive leadership team since 2018 following Genuine Health’s acquisition of Health Care Advisor Services (HCAS), a management service organization. He co-founded HCAS and played a significant role in HCAS’ successful physician recruitment program.

Stephany Nino
Director Of Contracting & Payer Relations
Ms. Nino manages the company’s contractual relationships with Medicare, health plans, and providers. She is one of Genuine Health’s original employees and has served in a number of roles since its inception in 2016, including director of operations.
Ms. Nino earned a master’s and bachelor’s degree from Florida State University.

David Salazar
Director Of Growth & Retention
As Director of Growth and Retention at Genuine Health Group, Mr. Salazar concentrates on physician acquisition and management of enrolled physician partners.
Mr. Salazar cofounded Health Care Advisor Services (HCAS), a management service organization, or MSO, which administered the risk arrangements between physicians and health plans. Genuine Health acquired the company in 2018.
