Genuine Health Group, the new healthcare enterprise co-founded by industry veterans Joe Caruncho and Dr. Orlando Lopez-Fernandez, announced today it hired Roberto Robledo as Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Robledo will oversee operations of all Genuine Health divisions, including its recently acquired Miami Accountable Care Organization, PremierMD ACO. In addition, he will work on corporate strategy and integration of future acquisitions.
Robledo has a long history with Genuine Health’s founders. He worked with both Joe Caruncho and Orlando Lopez-Fernandez at their previous venture, Preferred Care Partners, which they sold to United Healthcare after they grew the Medicare Advantage Plan to more than 55,000 members and $750 million in annual revenue. At Preferred, Robledo served as Vice President of Finance, where he developed the HCC Risk Factor model to estimate CMS reconciliation for premium payments. His team was also responsible for provider accounting, budgets, bids, and capitation payments.

Immediately prior to joining Genuine Health, Robledo served as Chief Financial Officer for MSO Puerto Rico, a subsidiary of InnovaCare Health, a $1.5 billion company that provides managed health care services through provider networks, Medicaid health plans, and Medicare Advantage plans. He has more than two decades of experience in healthcare finance, health plan management, medical informatics, and operations for MSOs, healthcare management companies, and healthcare staffing organizations.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Loyola University New Orleans.
